In January 2010, Vejar Elementary student leaders facilitated a school-wide project to raise awareness about protecting the Earth’s climate. Every Vejar student designed their own square with a “Reduce, Reuse, or Recycle” message to be sewn into a gigantic quilt over 30 feet long. The quilt was sent to Washington D.C. to be displayed with other quilts from across the United States as part of the upcoming Earth Day Climate Quilt Campaign.
