Dear Vejar Learning Community,
 
Welcome to the 2011-12 school year! Our entire staff is excited and energized to work together to provide the best possible education for your child! The office and custodial staff has worked hard make sure our registrations/office procedures and grounds are safe, attractive, well maintained and “user friendly.” Our librarian is working diligently to deliver new text books and get our library open for use. On behalf of all our support staff, we say “Welcome, and hope this is a great year for you and your child!”
 
As you know, we have changed our schedule to provide an early out day for students on Tuesdays. During this time, teachers will work with their departments and grade levels. Early out time will provide valuable opportunity for collaboration, articulation, cooperation, and deeper planning. Furthermore, we believe that providing time for purposeful thinking about our students’ achievement will lead to even greater success for them!
 
Finally, please remember to join our Community Club. This organization of parents provides valuable support for each and every student and teacher on this campus. Without your participation we cannot provide the level of funding and activities that help make Vejar the school it is! Please join. You can support the CC monetarily, and you can also donate the most precious gift of all, which is volunteer time. It is easy to assume the “other guy” will do it, but the reality is there are a number of wonderful events at Vejar that simply will not exist for our students if our parents do not “step up,” and be involved.

Wish Lists....
In celebration of Staff Appreciation Week, the following is our “Wish List” for every classroom…including Library, Office, RSP, Speech, Music, Science and Labs.
Lunch Monies....
Vejar Community: Just a reminder, as listed on the May menu, May 18th is the LAST DAY students can borrow for lunch. After this date, students will be receiving cheese, crackers and milk. All negative balances must be taken care of by May 25th. If your student is “checking out” and leaving our district, please call us to see if they owe any money or you have a refund coming.
